Carleis Romeo And Juliet wasnt a repeat of that phenomenon but its still a solid film that can easily appeal even to teenagers. #Why wasnt paris death in the romeo and juliet movies movie
Shakespeare's "Romeo and Juliet" was okay, but I’ll be honest, I preferred the 1996 movie over the actual text. In the movie, this scene is substantially cut. I like that Romeo And Juliet was filmed in Italy, including in Verona, where Shakespeares tragedy is set. When she refused to marry Paris her father Capulet became extremely angry and threatened to disown her if she did not go through with the wedding. Juliet was married to Romeo at this point in the story. I swear this is what she would sound like if she lived in today’s world, “But Mom! If I don’t get those Beyoncé tickets I’ll die! Like literally, I’ll stab myself.” Here is the most accurate description of Juliet's innocence and stupidity. Capulet is most to blame for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet because he over pressured Juliet to marry Paris. Juliet and Friar Laurence come up with a plan to fake her death and get her out of Verona to be with Romeo, but Romeo does not receive the message of the plan. Yeah, that is not only in the movie, but in the book, she refers to him as her “husband” when he is killed. He killed Mercutio! Also, did I mention that creepy relationship with his aunt. I mean, come on! That shot equals perfection. Also, don’t forget Tybalt, the ass hat, who had some sort of incestuous relationship with his aunt, yet seems badass in the movies. Primarily he’s my favorite because of the 1996 movie’s portrayal of him. Capulet even says, “What noise is this? Give me my long sword, ho?” Though I believe men and women should be treated the same, when Sampson talked about killing the Montague’s he practically said, “let’s kill the women too." Really dude? Seriously? Women back then did practically nothing to warrant violence and you are going to take it out on the maids? Well, what else do you expect from Sampson who constantly talks about wiping his “naked weapon out.” There are other characters obsessed with phallic devices. Even with her in a coma, this kiss just doesn’t do it for me. There is a hilarious version of Romeo and Juliet done in one theatrical version of Dickens Nicholas Nickleby (also extant in a movie version, though I dont know which one) wherein our hero falls in with a traveling troupe of players serving the hard-times, hard-scrabble factory wage-slaves of industrializing England in the early 1800s. The actors apparently didn't even get along. Don’t get me wrong, I love Leo, but he and Clare Danes did not have very good chemistry. I know, it’s a classic and people love it, now I see even the movie kind of sucked. Juliet wakes up but can’t stop Romeo drinking the poison. He thinks she is dead and he’s so upset that he drinks the poison. Romeo arrives in the church and finds her. But she isn’t, she took a medicine and she felt in a deep cold sleep. "Romeo and Juliet" has to be one of the most boring and ridiculous reads of my life. Juliet is lying in the church, it seems for Romeo that she’s dead.
